Get on board an Atmospheric Research Plane...

2/9/2014

This weekend the Scottish Air Show takes place, with an aerial display on Saturday 7th Sept, best seen from Ayr.  On Sunday 8th Sept there is a static plane display at Prestwick Airport. This is a rare opportunity to get on board the Atmospheric Research plane and see how scientists measure all sorts of meterorological data to improve modelling.  The plane is owned by NERC (National Environmental Research Council) who run the joint Met Office/NERC research facility for FAAM (Facility for Airborne Atmospheric Measurements).
